2) Scope

This policy applies to the Old Skool Rave Tapes mobile App only, including Android and iOS. It does not cover third-party websites or services you may open via links inside the App.

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect the following information.

Account information

• Email address
• Password, stored in hashed form. We do not store plaintext passwords.
• User name
• Profile picture or avatar, if added
• Your acceptance of the Privacy Policy at registration, including the policy version recorded at the time
• Your old skool events opt-in preference, if enabled

Social Wall content

• Posts and comments you create
• Media you upload, such as images and videos
• Links you include in posts or comments
• Like counts and comment counts stored as part of content metadata
• Reports submitted by users about posts or comments

Blocking

• A blocked users list associated with your account, used to hide content from users you block.

Server and security logs

• Basic log data generated by our servers and infrastructure for security and operational purposes, which may include IP address and user agent.

Communications

• If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and your email address.
• If you opt in to old skool events emails, we will send occasional emails and record basic unsubscribe status.

4) What we do not collect

We do not knowingly collect precise GPS/location data, contacts, advertising identifiers, payment data, health or biometric data, or third-party social login data.

5) How we use your information

We use information to provide the App and its features, manage accounts, authenticate users, allow posts and comments, apply user blocking, respond to support requests, send optional event emails, maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.

6) Legal bases

Where applicable, we rely on contract, consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligation as legal bases for processing your information.

7) Public nature of posts

If you post on the Social Wall, your user name, avatar if set, and the content you post may be visible to other App users. Do not post personal information you do not want others to see.

8) Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties except where required to operate, secure, or comply with legal obligations relating to the service.

9) Data retention

• Account data is retained while your account is active.
• Posts and comments may be retained after account deletion but anonymised so the account link is removed.
• Blocked user lists are retained while your account remains registered.
• Backups are retained for approximately 7 days in rotating backups.
• Email marketing opt-in status is retained until you unsubscribe or delete your account, as applicable.

10) Your rights

Subject to UK GDPR and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, data portability, or withdrawal of consent.

11) Security

We implement appropriate security measures designed to protect your information, including access controls and one-way password hashing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

12) Children

The App is not intended for children. The App may contain strong language and adult themes in music or lyrics.

13) App permissions

The App may request Photos or Media library permission to let you choose and upload images or videos for posts and comments. You can control permissions via your device settings.

14) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate may also provide notice in the App.
